Good morning! Let me start with the pieces of my dream that I remember...today is another day where the full story and path of the dream are fuzzy, but I can remember certain details.
I know that at one point, I was shopping with three black ladies at Wal Mart. We were trying to find shoes for another girl. I had found some clothes that were immaculate (that should have been a red flag right there) but when I took them to try on at home, or what was my home in the dream, I had selected; aquamarine pleather overalls - the material is identical to my cheap purse from Target; and to pair with that a white shirt with a Shakespearean collar. Also I had bought what I thought was a short sleeved cardigan coverup. Alas, it turned out to be a half pink, half green (literally, cut down the middle with one sleeve of each color) with humongous fluffed sleeves. Ruffles galore. It was like the 80's and the 1600's had partied together, got raucously hammered, and had a horrifying love child.
The quote above is the heading of my current I Ching. I do it almost daily and I absolutely love it. For those of you who don't know, the I Ching is a book that is thousands of years old containing tidbits of Chinese wisdom to help get you through life. Each day, or whenever the fancy strikes, you ponder an issue you're having. Mine deal mostly with work and how to handle it. Then you think about that and roll quarters six times. Heads or tails get a different amount of points and create a pattern of lines, broken for even numbers, unbroken for odd numbers. This pattern becomes your hexagram, and that pattern leads you to a certain page of information.
I know it sounds strange for those who have not heard or seen this book, and often times the information is not explosively new and unheard of ways to handle your problems. For me, it teaches me to keep calm when life is turbulent. And the thought that this same knowledge has passed from generation to generation, and that the same concerns have existed over centuries, helps me realize how connected everyone and everything is.
My I Ching today was opposition. It basically said trust that this is where you are meant to be in the world right now, so don't fight it. Since it's a beautiful and sunny day, I think I can get through it just fine!
